I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I have worked with various aged individuals with mental health difficulties using strategies catered to their needs. I also have a unique background in child development and have worked with children and their families in various capacities for about 15 years. I have helped families with parenting difficulties learn new strategies in positive discipline, peaceful conflict resolution, and problem solving, as well as children with various mental health conditions and social emotional needs.
When individuals experience trauma or severe life stressors it is not uncommon for it to impact all aspects of their lives. I have a strong desire to help others and assist people with the challenges of daily living. It is my passion to help individuals find strength and courage to share their stories in a safe and non-judgmental space. Since each individual is unique, I have been trained in a range of modalities and approaches to promote behavior changes and optimal mental health. I can work with individuals with a variety of needs such as:
•Anxiety
•Depression
•Relationship Issues
•Addiction
•Anger Management
•Codependency
•Coping Skills
•Family Conflict
•Grief
•Life Transitions
•Parenting
•Peer Relationships and School Issues
•Self-Esteem
•Spirituality
•Stress
•Trauma and PTSD
•Mood Disorders
Otis, pictured above, is my trained therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International (TDI) and loves his work of getting extra pets and play! He helps individuals feel calmer and open to therapeutic techniques with emotional support. I find it rewarding to be part of an individual's journey through exploration and self-discovery. I believe each individual has the ability within themselves to make the necessary changes to live more meaningful joy-filled lives, learn new ways of doing things, and overcome whatever is standing in their way.
